The CS-200 is an instrument designed for simultaneously monitoring more than one faradaic and potentiometric sensor. The channels are opto-electronically isolated from each other to eliminate cross-talk with option to be connected single channeled or in the differential mode. Isolation is also assured by having each channel powered by an independent DC/DC converter power supply. The potentiostats are configured for use with three electrodes so that each channel has an independent working, reference and counter electrode. You can operate with a common reference but isolation and cross-talk will be compromised. Channel #1 has a connector for an external signal (e.g., triangle wave) input. Both potentiostats have connectors for analog recording of the cell potential and current.
Data acquisition is controlled via an on-board micro-processor so that you can connect to a computer (serial port) without need for any other hardware. Data from the bipotentiostat are charted separately on the monitor while data from the bipotentiometer are displayed on one chart (separate traces). The applied potential, gain, and filter settings of each channel are set separately with front panel controls. The software automatically detects any changes in the gain and filter settings made during an experiment. The on-screen display plot scrolls with time similar to a strip chart recorder. ASCII data files can be transferred to computer programs like Excel for analyzing data and formatting graphics for publications.
